About This Opportunity

An opportunity exists to contribute to the teaching and research, and service activities of the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences and the School of Psychology in area relating to Sport Psychology and potentially Sport Coaching. This will span across both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and will include, course coordination, and supervising research students. With a research expectation, you will have a coherent research program, present and publish results, and contribute to successful applications for external funding. In addition, a contribution to the scholarship of teaching is encouraged and contribution to service/engagement is expected.

This position will also contribute to the content development and maintenance of the School’s online teaching resources including the continuing professional development programs.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

You will have completed a PhD in Sport Psychology or Psychology. Your knowledge and experience in on Sport Psychology will be partnered with the ability to engage in high quality teaching at the undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels. You will also be able to demonstrate the capacity to engage in independent research, as evidenced by an established track record of publications. Finally, you will hold the ability to establish relationships with the profession and promote Sport Psychology at both a university and wider community level.

It is a requirement of this position that the incumbent be registered and endorsed, or eligible for registration and endorsement, as a Sport Psychologist in Australia.
