The Opportunity

The Centre for Development Economics and Sustainability (CDES) is one of the four research centres at the Monash Business School located in Melbourne. The research centres bring together researchers from a variety of academic backgrounds engaged in global sustainable development issues.

This Level D research only academic position will play a major role in implementing the centres strategic mission to conduct and promote high-quality policy relevant research on major global issues in development and sustainability, and enhance research capacity and knowledge in these areas.

This appointment will lead research, raise external funding and engage with external researchers, practitioners (such as NGOs and industry engagement) outside academia to promote CDES as the premier research centre in the region in the area of development and sustainability.

The successful candidate will hold a doctoral qualification in Economics with significant experience and a national profile in this discipline with an emerging trajectory of being an international leader in the field. A strong track record of publishing research in high quality journals along with obtaining external research grants will be critical.
