We offer an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary anatomy Laboratories and Technical Support officer ($75,723 - $82,015) to join our world-leading institution at James Cook University (JCU).  A continuing appointment, this position is based at the JCU Bebegu Yumba Campus in Townsville.
 
What you can accomplish in the Role
Working autonomously with broad direction from the Manager, Facilities and Technical Support and academic staff you will support the preparation, usage and documentation of cadaveric materials and other resources for use in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research.  Ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained in the veterinary anatomy teaching laboratory, your focus will be on preparing animal bodies and tissues for teaching, setting up for practical classes and ensuring a clean safe workplace that supports the successful delivery of veterinary anatomy teaching and enabling learning outcomes to be met.
  
What you will bring to the Role
With a background in a clinical or laboratory setting, you have previous experience working with cadaveric dissection and prosection with a strong knowledge of animal or human anatomy as well as proven cadaver preservation and embalming skills and knowledge. Your comprehensive understanding of WHS legislation and how it applies in a laboratory environment, underpinned by your science qualifications, will ensure your success in this varied yet challenging role.
