The Opportunity

This particular Senior Lecturer position will be working within Monash’s department of Social Work within the School of Primary and Allied Health Care, which is a leader in Social Work education in Australia. It is an academic unit in the School of Primary Health Care, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences and is located at Caulfield. The mission of the department is to provide leadership in the delivery of high quality education, research and community service in the discipline of Social Work.

Reporting to a supportive Head of Department, the Senior Lecturer is expected to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of the department of Social Work. We are specifically searching for an academic with practice and teaching experience in a substantive area of social work such as: domestic and family violence and/or gender equity; health/mental health; child and family services; disability; or ageing.

The position will also require substantial curriculum development work and a commitment to evidence-informed practice and policy, making these skills highly valued. A senior academic at this level is also expected to play a major role in leadership, scholarship, research and/or professional activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast moving department at a time of substantial change in both the department and the field of social work. The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree and a qualification in Social Work together with subsequent research / teaching experience.

This role is a full-time continuing position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Monash University seeks applicants for this opportunity who are able to demonstrate and present valid and current Australian work rights.

At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. This position at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check
