UQ’s School of Economics is a leading provider of economics education in Australia, and ranks in the top 50 among Economics departments worldwide for its research.

Located on the St Lucia campus as part of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, the School is home to more than 1800 domestic and international students, 17 professional staff and 70 active teaching and research staff. The School also has an established research centre and an active seminar and visitor program, providing exposure to researchers from around the world.

About This Opportunity

As the Manager, Student and Academic Administration you will lead a team of staff engaged in student and academic administration, providing comprehensive and timely advice on complex student and academic administration matters. Your role is integral in providing advice and formulating recommendations on policy and procedural matters pertaining to student and coursework program administration, in consultation with the Faculty Student and Academic Administration Manager.

Contributing to the updating of School program and course information in addition to developing and implementing effective systems for managing student administration matters within the School, will be a key aspect of your role. This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Our Ideal Candidate

Boasting experience in successfully leading staff to achieve desired outcomes whilst providing high quality client service, you will ideally possess an undergraduate degree, with subsequent relevant experience in a tertiary education institution. A proven ability to interpret, develop and implement policy relating to student and/or academic administration is essential to the role.

Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to draft detailed reports, perform statistical analysis, problem solve and use sound judgement are desired skills that will be integral to your success in the role.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW level 8.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $100,264.90 - $112,583.95, plus 17% super. The total FTE package will be in the range $117,309.93 - $131,723.21.
