Marketing and Communication

Marketing and Communication (M&C) is the central marketing and communication service at The University of Queensland. The team is responsible for the University’s central marketing strategy, strategic communication, publications, design, media management, brand management, advertising, and corporate and student recruitment events.

M&C has responsibilities across the span of the University’s campuses and operations, nationally and internationally. We work closely with executive staff, senior staff, and marketing and communication staff. Career progression and staff development are key elements of our work environment, and we reward and recognise high performance and achievement.

The Communication team is responsible for managing the development and implementation of integrated communication plans that enhance and protect UQ’s reputation and engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

About This Opportunity

The Performance media Strategist leads a small team with in the corporate marketing team which is responsible for developing, testing, and implementing a strategy to reach and engage target audiences (stakeholder groups) through performance media. The Performance Media specialist is responsible for implementing performance media strategies for the University, and support initiatives that will contribute to the goals and success of University campaigns.

This position is located at our Toowong office location on High street, just minutes from the CBD & walking distance from public transport.

Our Ideal Candidate

You will have you finger on the pulse of the changing landscape of performance media, and use this passion and knowledge to uplift UQ’s marketing outputs. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in digital media planning, technology implementation and understands how to translate goals and objectives into tactical plans that deliver results. You will understand how to research and evaluate media channels, and how to derive useful insights from analytics tools. You will be passionate about sharing knowledge, coaching staff and working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.

You’ll be comfortable managing staff, working with specialists from other areas, including other marketing and communication experts and agency staff. You’ll know how to clearly communicate with internal stakeholders and set expectations. Most of all, we’re looking for someone who wants to build a curious, results driven performance media team to support the goals of a large, diverse and complex organisation.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term HEW level 8.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $98,298.92 - $110,376.42, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $115,009 - $129,140
