    About the role

    • Permanent role
    • 87K – 103K + 17% super + leave loading

    The Systems Engineer: Office 365 Teams/VOIP will primarily perform hands-on tasks to assist in the management and maintenance of Office 365 Teams and related technologies. This position will report to the Team Leader – Office 365 and Messaging Services and has no direct reports.

    The Office 365 Administration team sits within the wider Customer Service Delivery – UNSW IT team. Office 365 is used by staff, students and alumni of UNSW for email, SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, Teams, Dynamics CRM, PowerBI, and other services which are offered by the Office 365 platform.

    This role is broadbanded role across level 6/7,the incumbent will normally be expected to have reached the top step of level 6 prior to progression to level 7.

    LEVEL 6:

    • A degree or subsequent relevant experience in a medium to large scale IT environment or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
    • Office 365 or any other Microsoft certifications a plus.
    • Knowledge and understanding of Office 365 Teams/Skype and its voice component.
    • Knowledge and understanding of VOIP principles such as PBX, SIP, Trunking, DNIS/ANI and IVR is desirable.
    • Exposure to or basic working knowledge of scripting languages.
    • Basic understanding of Azure AD user management both for Office 365 and third-party services.
    • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of supporting Office desktop applications and Office 365 mobile applications.
    • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated focus on customer satisfaction and high-quality service delivery, with strong interpersonal skills and responsiveness.
    • Proven ability to multitask and ensure effective time management through organisation and prioritisation of work.
    • Proven capacity and willingness to work as a member of a proactive team dedicated to the delivery of high-quality services to customers.

    LEVEL 7 (in addition to Level 6 criteria):

    • A minimum 2 years professional experience in supporting Office 365 administration (specifically Teams/Skype) experience in a large organisation (20,000+ users).
    • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Teams/Skype voice functionality.
    • Intermediate knowledge and ability in managing Office 365 and other related cloud solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to create PowerShell scripts to schedule repeatable Office 365 actions.
    • Demonstrated commitment and willingness to contribute to improvements and new ideas that align with IT goals and objectives.
    • Proven ability to show initiative with effective analytical and problem-solving skills, and with the ability to work autonomously and as part of collaborative team.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
    • Proven ability to liaise effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, and influence to achieve desired outcomes.
