The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a full-time Research Assistant to join an innovative research program within the Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology. Specifically, the Harvey Laboratory is looking for a motivated and talented candidate to study the role of the Hippo pathway in organ size control. This is a critical support role essential for the enduring success of a productive research team.
The successful candidate will employ a range of techniques including Drosophila genetics, advanced microscopy, and computational analyses. Expertise in a range of molecular and cell biology and genetics techniques will be highly regarded. Additionally, experience in Drosophila genetics, as well as confocal microscopy, would be advantageous.
You will possess outstanding organisational and record keeping skills, high quality written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with independence and as part of a team. The incumbent will be expected to generate high quality, reproducible data for publications and presentations. You will also have a methodological approach to problem-solving, the capacity for forward planning and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
