The Castan Centre for Humans Rights Law promotes and protects human rights through its world-renowned public scholarship. We now seek your passion and expertise to join this leading and innovative organisation in the role of Policy Manager (Human Rights Fellow).

As a Policy Manager (Human Rights Fellow), you will be given the opportunity to lead the centre’s policy projects, which use research to improve legal protections for vulnerable Australians. Focusing on the centre’s priority policy areas, you will produce parliamentary submissions, in-depth policy papers and opinion pieces for different media to highlight the need for change to human rights laws and policies. You will be given a platform to conduct in-depth legal research and to shape the Centre’s policy agenda, adding a level of responsibility to your position.

There will be various opportunities in this role to utilise your drive and creativity that will not only benefit the Universities’ future achievements in human rights, but will also hone and enhance your research skills and increasing your own professional network.

As a successful applicant, you will have an undergraduate law degree, with subsequent relevant work experience, especially in the human rights field. A postgraduate human rights degree is preferred.

This role is a part-time position at 29 hours per week.
