The Opportunity

Monash’s Faculty of IT has recently experienced a period of transformation, resulting in significant growth. With a clear strategic plan and extensive resources, we are seeking to continue this growth through the acquisition of world-renowned thought leaders with cutting-edge ideas.

The Cyber Security and Systems group is developing a strong international profile through high-level activity in areas such as Blockchain research, and initiating and leading the Oceania Cyber Security Centre (OCSC). The OCSC is a high-powered government security facility, which brings together eight Victorian universities, the Defence Science Institute, major private sector partners and a partnership with Oxford University’s world leading Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre.

The mission of the OCSC is to develop solutions to enhance the security, privacy, reliability, trust, and performance issues of different system environments. The group has strong collaboration between academics, industries and governments, both locally and internationally.

As Professor of Cyber Security, you will have invaluable input into the OCSC and cyber security research themes within Monash. Your focus in this position will centralise on mobilising and leading cyber security research to increase global recognition, building and fostering interdisciplinary, cross-institutional partnerships, furthering industry engagement and increasing strategic collaborations as well as acting as a thought-leader for cyber security in the Pacific region and beyond.

This is an opportunity to apply your expertise and passion in a collaborative, high-performing environment geared towards enhancing your success. A full-time, continuing opportunity, you will be offered a significant remuneration package, relocation and travel support as well opportunities to continue to drive and further your career on the global stage.

At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. This position will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
