The First Peoples and Equity Pathways Directorate comprises the Office of Director, Indigenous Higher Education Units, Equity Pathways team and Clemente Australia team. The First Peoples and Equity Pathways Directorate has two key responsibility areas: supporting the implementation of ACU’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education and employment objectives and supporting the implementation of ACU’s Equity and Widening Participation objectives through effective delivery of programs to contribute to improved access and participation in higher education for people from low socioeconomic backgrounds.

Clemente Australia (CA) is a community embedded humanities program for vulnerable Australians delivered by ACU in partnership with corporate, education and community partners.

The Clemente Australia Program Advisor leads and maintains high level partnerships with key Learning Partners to promote respectful relationships and coordinate a range of services to support the learning of Clemente Australia students. The role holder is a member of the national Clemente Australia team and contributes to achieving the strategic goals of ACU. In addition, the position supports the Directorate in effective leadership and administration of the national Clemente Australia program.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Establishing sustainable relationships with Clemente Australia students and external partners to improve student success;
  • Exercising discernment in managing challenging situations often requiring involvement of multiple agencies;
  • Understanding the purpose and application of ACU policies and procedures to actively manage risk in the best interests of ACU.

You will need to have:

  • A degree in Humanities, Counselling or Psychology or honors degree of evidence which shows equivalence with appropriate qualifications;
  • Demonstrated knowledge on a range of Government policies and legislation related to human services, Human Rights and person centered approaches;
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Sound understanding of systems, processes and technology.
  • Evidence of ability to show commitment with integrity to the Catholic Identity, Mission and ethos of the University.

Total remuneration valued to $101,111 - $109,432 pa (pro-rata), including salary component $85,440 - $92,471 pa (pro-rata) (Higher Education Worker Level 7), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
