Job Description:

UQ Examinations provides centralised professional support for the consistent and high quality conduct of examinations across all campuses of The University of Queensland, facilitating over 250,000 student sittings each year.

Examination Supervisors have a key role in ensuring examinations are conducted in accordance with University assessment policies and procedures. Examination Supervisors help ensure that students can sit their examinations under optimal conditions.

The role

Applicants will be responsible for following established procedures for monitoring students during examinations. This includes helping set up exam venues, distributing exam materials, checking student identity, attending to student queries, responding to instances of alleged misconduct, and collecting and reconciling completed exam papers.

You will be an enthusiastic team player who is flexible and adaptable in a changing and complex work environment.

You will also have a demonstrated ability to deliver high quality customer focused service in a high pressure environment. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students and academic staff.

Physical fitness and mental alertness are essential to ensure consistent provision of exam supervision.

You will be available to work when required, Monday to Saturday, and be available to work during the peak exam periods – April, June, September and November.


This is a casual appointment with the potential for recurring seasonal work. Remuneration will be at Professional Staff HEW 1, Level 1, $31.95 per hour, plus employer superannuation contributions of 9.5% where applicable.

Hours of work are based on a rostered shift allocation – Monday to Saturday – and subject to University requirements. There is no guaranteed minimum of the number of rostered hours you may receive.
