The role

The successful appointee will be responsible for performing technical and workshop activities (e.g. repair and maintenance), providing design and fabrication advice to staff and students, and performing high precision machining in a team-based research environment.

The person

Applicants should possess a relevant technical or trade qualification with at least two years of subsequent, relevant experience.

Experience in mechanical manufacturing, assembly and maintenance of complex mechanical systems, and ability to undertake fault diagnosis and remedy of mechanical systems at the component level is required.

Skills in mechanical engineering, mechanical systems and operations, the operation of workshop machinery in a mechanical fabrication environment, and installation/servicing of compressed air and gas systems are also required.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 6 months at HEW Level 5 or HEW Level 6 depending on experience.

The remuneration package for HEW 5 will be in the range $66,347 - $75,771p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $77,626 - $88,652p.a.).

The remuneration package for HEW 6 will be in the range $75,957 - $83,411p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $88,869 - $97,626p.a.).
