UQ Advancement engages a large community of alumni who are located in Australia and around the world. Advancement also leads UQ’s fundraising efforts that have significantly impacted the areas of empowering student success, transforming teaching and learning, and driving discovery and impact. The University recently launched its first comprehensive and institution-wide philanthropic initiative; ‘Not If, When – The Campaign to Create Change’.

The role

Working within a small, high performing team, and part of a University wide engagement network, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the planning, preparation and delivery of effective events and other alumni engagement initiatives that inform and encourage alumni to participate in the life of the university; assist in achieving its mission and advocating for it within their own communities and networks.

The overall alumni engagement program involves a range of targeted events, communications and marketing initiatives along with volunteer and philanthropic opportunities, which range in size and complexity that highlight the advantage of a lifelong association with the university.

The person

Applicants should possess tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, public relations, event management or a related area and an understanding of the higher education environment would be highly regarded.

An ideal candidate would have strong communication, organisational skills along with the capacity to lead when required and be collaborative. Experience with volunteer and sponsorship management, complex databases and an in-depth understanding of social media would be a valuable asset in this role.

There are two positions available, both full-time, fixed term appointments for 12 months at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $74,207.07 - $79,964.50 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $86,822 - $93,558 p.a.).
