Job Description:

The University’s strategic plan recognises that the student experience, within and beyond curriculum, is a critical component of university life. The Student Experience, Retention and Success (SERS) theme within the Academic Division will provide a holistic approach to the provision of programs and services designed to support students’ intellectual and personal development.

The role will work seamlessly with the Early Intervention positions to provide support to students in navigating the transition / attrition points identified in first year and beyond, so an ability to support broader cohorts of students is also important.

In the role you will:

  • providing information and support to international students as required
  • Provide supervision of the International Peer Leaders, this includes the recruitment, training, rostering, coordination of tasks, budget management, and ongoing supervision of the Leaders.
  • Reinvigorate the Student Adviser model through strengthened connections and raising profile with Colleges, Institutes and other key collaborators,
  • Assist with Academic Progress Review activities, monitor student compliance with intervention strategies
  • Develop, deliver and evaluate presentations for key events.

You will be employed on a full-time, ongoing basis.

To be considered, you will have:

  • Completion of a degree level qualification with relevant experience in education, humanities or social services field.
  • Excellent communication, cross-cultural, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills in a higher education or similar human service environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and contribute effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills including the ability to use initiative, prioritise, solve problems and meet deadlines while working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate a program of activities to address particular identified needs of a culturally and linguistically diverse cohort within an academic or similar environment.

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $95,962 comprising base salary within the range of $75,022 to $ 82,019 plus 17% superannuation.
